Emma Shaw, who has worked in the force's Call Management Department (CMD) for more than 12 years, is trying to raise enough money to pay for immunotherapy in America to treat her triple negative stage 4 breast cancer.

Emma was diagnosed with this very serious form of breast cancer in March 2017 and has undergone a lot of aggressive treatment. At the time, she was on her own with her eight year old son, Theo, and found a lot of strength and determination from him. He has just been pre-signed by LCFC for their under 9s Academy. In November 2017 she was finally given the "all clear" and told to go and enjoy life.

In February 2018 Emma met her partner Darren and Emma, Darren and Theo went on their first holiday abroad together in August. Emma says she could not have been happier but that sadly ended when Emma was admitted to hospital for three weeks with pneumonia. Scans later confirmed that her triple negative breast cancer had spread to her liver meaning it is not curable.

Understandably Emma is desperate to spend as much time with her son as possible and after a lot of research on the internet she and Darren have decided that the best option for her is to receive treatment in America, however, this is going to cost £90,000.

The immunotherapy, which is only available in the states, won't be a cure but it will hopefully prolong Emma’s life to be able to make many more happy memories with her boys and her family and friends. Emma is determined to show Theo that she is doing everything she can to fight this awful disease.

Emma has started a just giving page and is trying to raise the £90,000 to get her to the states for treatment and is hoping people will be able to give as much or as little as they can for this she say she will be forever grateful.
