Officers from Melton local policing unit are appealing for public help after two vehicles were stolen from a car park in Melton in the last week.
The most recent incident took place sometime between 9.50am and 10.35am on Tuesday March 9, a Land Rover 110, registration number SM04 UCZ, was stolen from the cattle market car park. The vehicle was parked about 20 metres away from the exit gate at the back of the car park.
The vehicle also contained a black Elle handbag and a number of items of jewellery including a gold signature ring with the letters RT and a diamond in the middle and a silver snake shaped ring with precious stones in it.
A green Landrover County, registration number KW04 YTZ, was also stolen from the farmer’s car park at the cattle market in Melton Mowbray sometime between 8am and 12.30pm on Tuesday March 2.
PC Paul Anderson is investigating the incident, he said: “This is third incident in three weeks where a vehicle has been stolen from the car park. I would urge anyone who knows anything about the incidents or the whereabouts of the vehicles to contact me. Any information no matter how insignificant it may seem could assist with our enquiries.
“The owners of the vehicle stolen on Tuesday March 9 are particularly keen to trace the gold ring as it is of great sentimental value. I would urge anyone who knows anything about the jewellery or has seen a similar handbag discarded in the area to contact the police.”
