Incident number: 79 of February 12

Two further arrests have been made by officers investigating an assault in Market Street, Ashby.

Police were called at 2.41am on Sunday 12 February to a report of a fight in the street.

Officers attended and the victim was taken to hospital with head injuries where he remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Two men aged 26 and 28 were arrested yesterday evening (14 February) on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Four men have previously been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and have bailed pending further enquiries. They are aged 24 and 28, two are 25.

Detectives are still actively investigating the assault and continue to appeal anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please get in touch.
