The Latimer neighbourhood boasts the busy commercial area of Melton Road, hosting the world renowned jewellery sector, the Peeple Centre and the Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre.

Cossington Park is a community focal point being home to many multicultural festivals which are celebrated throughout the year, such as Diwali and the Holi festival. As well as being a thriving commercial area it is also home to a large multicultural community.

Your neighbourhood policing team are committed to making your neighbourhood a safer place to live in, work in and visit.

Your team is made up of police officers, police community support officers and special constables. They are working together with the community and other partners to tackle local problems and help improve the quality of life for local residents.

They currently want to find out what matters most to you in the area you live. They will work with you and their partners to agree the main priorities for your area and how everyone can work together to tackle them.

Neighbourhood Sergeant

  • Sgt Mark Zanker Sgt Mark Zanker (1720) Prior to taking up this role I ran the Neighbourhood Action Team at Keyham Lane and have worked in the area of Belgrave for over 10 years.

    I am keen to continue to build upon the good work carried out previously in tackling issues of crime and disorder that affect the local community.
  • PC Barry Clements PC Barry Clements (1120) I have been a police officer with Leicestershire Constabulary for 20 years, working in a variety of roles including General Duty officer, and beat officer on the Mowmacre Hill Estate.

    I am looking forward to taking on this new role as beat officer for Humberstone and Hamilton.
  • PC Laura Nutt PC Laura Nutt (4312) "I have worked for Leicestershire Constabulary for over ten years now, previously as a member of support staff before becoming a police officer.

    "I have spent my police officer service to date in the Belgrave area and became a principal beat officer (PBO) towards the end of 2005. Hopefully you will have seen me out and about within the community.

    "I am very approachable and aim to spend more time working within the Belgrave community offering reassurance and assisting in tackling issues in order to make the Belgrave area a nicer and safer place to live."
  • PCSO Gemma Birt PCSO Gemma Birt (6563) I was a PCSO for four years in Market Harborough and moved to Belgrave in March 2009.

    I am looking forward to becoming an established member of the Belgrave Team and working with the community to develop a stronger relationship with the police.
  • PCSO Vina Pancholi PCSO Vina Pancholi (6557) I have been a PCSO for this area for some time now. I used to live in the Rushey Mead area and have close ties with the area on a personal level, as well as being involved in a professional capacity. I also speak Gujarati which is a very useful skill to have when dealing with the community.
